Here we have a super Golf R 2.0 DSG 3 door finished Red with newly finished Gloss Black Alloys. It has the full Leather R Sports Seats too.

Sold to its last owner by Listers VW and it has full  VW main dealer service history. New Front Brake Discs and Pads have just been fitted too as part of our sales preparation by performance car specialists C1-R and this Golf R wants for nothing.

It’s a good specification car options including Satellite Navigation, Dyno Audio, Sunroof, Cruise Control, Multi Play CD Changer, Xenon’s and Heated Leather Seats, Fronts and Rear Parking Sensors, Bluetooth Phone Connection.

The last owner also treated this super example to a remap by performance specialists Viezu just a few months ago, it was intention to keep the car until he saw a very unique 550bhp Evo X come into our stock!

The R is the quickest, most expensive version in the Golf line-up. Thanks to its potent 267bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, plus VW’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, it will accelerate to 62mph from standing in just 5.5sec with the optional DSG transmission and go on to a top speed of 155mph. Having a extra 25% power, courtesy of the specialist re-map this one will be a little quicker too of course but without feeling like a modified car.

When road tested Autocar said

“Driven in anger, the Golf R is naturally a very rapid machine. But it’s also a smooth, grown up, refined kind of hot hatch, and one that feels as refined as a Passat, or, indeed, a more regular member of the Golf family, when driven on a motorway”

“Choosing between the standard six-speed manual gearbox and optional seven-speed DSG ‘box is a no-brainer. In real-world conditions, the manual version falls some way short of its claimed 5.7sec 0-62mph sprint time. By comparison, the smoother DSG ‘box hits its 5.5sec marker more accurately. The latter option is also more economical on the combined cycle (33.6mpg vs 33.2mpg) and slightly less harmful to the environment, emitting 195g/km CO2 against the manual car’s 199g/km figure”

Evo Magazine verdict

“On paper, what is essentially a Golf GTI with more power and four-wheel drive doesn’t sound all that exciting yet, in the R, VW has made a genuinely rapid car with that rare knack of feeling totally secure and, at the same time, fantastically biddable, as if it were always working out the best way to extract the most pace from any given input on any given road”

“Think of it as a Golf GTI with a reprogrammed ability map that comes into its own beyond 8/10ths, where the less powerful front-drive car would be starting to get distinctly ragged, and you’ll have a fair idea of the Golf R’s exceptional skill set”

“If it lacks the nth degree of hardcore conviction and precision that make the RS Megane such a sublime driving tool, it arguably more than compensates with a fully-rounded repertoire of practical everyday abilities as well as the sophistication, myriad refinements and build excellence synonymous with the Golf. A potent package in every sense”
