Here we have a super one owner 2014/64 plate Porsche Boxster 2.7 finished in White with Black Sports Seats. It’s travelled just 7,598 miles from new and as you would expect, in near new condition.
Standard equipment is comprehensive and features the usual refinements including Air Conditioning, Electric Roof, Windows, Central Locking, Remote Luggage Compartment Opening, Porsche Stability System etc. The standard CDR audio system has a 7-inch touchscreen with Radio/CD with Phone Connection facility.
Extra cost options include Boxster S 19” Alloys in Black, Black Partial Leather Sports Seats, Heated Seats (A must for UK Winter motoring!) Rear Parking Sensors, Bluetooth and the Porsche extra third year warrantee upgrade.
The third generation had a completely new lighter, 40% stiffer Aluminium/Steel Hybrid body-shell, more powerful engine, yet frugal too compared to its predecessors! 34mpg and an annual RFL of £265 aren’t really numbers that should give cause for complaint either given the fun this car will provide!
It’s a bit longer than the previous model and it sits 11mmm lower too with a longer wheelbase both helping to Improve handling and comfort. In an age where cars seem to be getting increasingly heavier the overall 37kg weight saving helps to reduce the to the 0- 60 time to just 5.9 seconds.
The Generation 3 Boxster along with its sibling the Caymen are good looking motors to say the least, arguably the best in the Porsche range. Its widely acclaimed by motoring press too as a real drivers car, indeed they also say in the case of the 2.7 variant, less is more, and all seem to agree that the manual gearbox version is the enthusiasts choice!
Top Gear Magazine said after driving the 3.4S
“So it’s brilliant, the new Boxster. Still best in class and massively satisfying. But there’s a sneaking feeling that a 2.7 Boxster with the standard 6-speed manual might be the more intuitive – and immediately easier to fall for”
Car Magazine said
“The Boxster has long been one of the world’s best – if not the best – all-round sports cars, with sharp handling, affordable running costs, great powertrains and a price tag that undercuts the 911 Cabriolet by more than 50%. The third-generation model only improves things and, while we’re not totally sold on the electric power steering, it doesn’t really diminish the Boxster’s all-round appeal. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it”
Evo Mag Said
“As an all round proposition the Boxster is still hard to beat. The sweet 6 speed manual of or test car is better than the 911’s 7 speed transmission and remains our choice over the cold sophistication of the PDK”
“To drive, it’s a car that feels uncannily open and direct with beautifully clean responses, an almost palpable sense of immediacy and wonderful balance. In these respects, even the 911 falls short of the standards the Boxster sets. Put all-out performance to one side and the Boxster is the best open top car Porsche has ever made”
What Car Said
“Should I buy one? If you’re in the market for a roadster, then nothing else comes close to the new Porsche Boxster. The good news is there’s no need to spend an extra £7795 on the S model, or fork out for any fancy chassis aids – the 2.7 version is utterly brilliant as it is”
“It is not enough for a car to be the best in its class to earn a five star verdict. Five stars are reserved for cars that don’t so much head their class as transcend them. This is what the Porsche Boxster does. For anyone who cares at all about driving, it is so far ahead of any accepted rival that to choose another over it on these grounds alone would be little less than perverse”
