It has the Chilli Pack option which adds Half Leather Seats, Heated Seats, Cruise Control, Dual Zone Climate Contol and it features the extra cost Media Pack with Sat Nav, plus Bluetooth, DAB Radio, USB connectivity and Rear Parking Sensors too!
It has a full service history and the balance of the pre-pad 5 year TLC free servicing pack remains. Mini Warranty runs until September 2017.
Mini’s optional all-wheel-drive system, ALL4 – an electronic differential, essentially – sends 50 per cent of the engine’s power to the rear wheels in low grip situations, and up to 100 per cent should the diff sense ‘excessively sporty driving’. Regenerative braking and stop/start technology are standard across the range, putting diesel Countrymans into the sub-130g/km tax bracket.
The Mini Countryman is the largest Mini in the model’s lifetime. At more than four metres long, it’s over a foot longer than the regular Mini, or roughly the same length as a typical modern supermini.
It was also the first Mini to get two doors in each side of its body, and what Mini describes as a “large tailgate” nonetheless, Mini’s designers have gone to some lengths to maintain many of the regular Mini’s styling characteristics. Mini proportions have been with us in one form or another since 1959 and still have a huge following.
BMW clearly wanted the Mini Countryman yet to share the dynamic DNA of its siblings. As soon as you turn the steering wheel, the Countryman feels instantly keener than most regular hatchbacks. Much of the alertness comes from the remarkably quick steering ratio – 2.4 turns providing a turning circle of just 11.6 metres.
Annual RFL is £120 and on a return trip from the seller to collect the car we returned 48.9 mpg so for a 4×4 Diesel its not going to break the Bank to run!
