Becoming Increasingly collectable this super condition two lady owner example has been enthusiast owned from new. Its travelled just 44,652 miles from new. The second owner bought the car from a good friend and has owned it for 8 years using it for high day and holiday trips.
It has a Honda Main Dealer History visiting the workshop @5,000, 13,860, 18,089, 23,030, 27,853, 30,459, 33,058, 35,531, 37,650 and 41,535 miles the history file not just containing past Mot certificates and Service Invoices but the Purchase Invoice too for the sum of £28,503. History records don’t come better than this and additionally it will have its annual service before its next owner collects it.
Designed by some of the engineers behind Honda’s winning F1 and CART engines, the S2000’s two litre DOHC straight four boasts such race-bred features as roller rockers, forged shallow skirt pistons, ladder frame main bearing stiffener and fibre reinforced aluminium for the cylinders. Its 237bhp set a new record for highest specific output for a normally aspirated production car engine at the time and I can’t think of a current unit that matches that?
The S2000 was first produced in 1999 production moving to Suzuka for the 2004 Generation 2 model which Introduced many significant changes. The new model had 17 in wheels and Bridgestone RE-050 tires along with re-engineered suspension to reduce oversteer. The spring rates and damping were altered and the suspension geometry modified to improve stability too. The subframe has also received a revision in design to achieve a higher rigidity. In the gearbox brass synchronisers were replaced with carbon fiber ones. In addition, cosmetic changes were made to the exterior with new front and rear bumpers, revised headlight assemblies, new tail-lights, and oval-tipped exhausts. Little changed then until production ceased in 2009.
It now seems the S2000 has started to move towards the highly desirable modern classic collectors bracket tipped by many already as a top ten buy alongside its big brother the NSX, it’s a brilliant fun car that will no doubt be a good long term Investment.
We have all seen the likes of the BMW E30 M3, Sierra and Escort Cosworths and other 70’s,80’s,90’s enthusiasts models rising in value over recent years, indeed many now valued at far higher prices than originally sold for when new and my bet is that it won’t be too many years before the S2000 does so too!
